Youth Futures receives funding for crisis accommodaton
  • Emily Hamilton MLA presents Youth Futures with a Lotterywest grant
  • Youth Futures will receive $600,000 towards a short-term crisis accommodation service

Emily Hamilton, Member for Joondalup, visited Mark Waite, CEO of Youth Futures, to present the organisation with a Lotterywest grant of $600,000 towards a short-term crisis accommodation service.

The service aims to reduce vulnerability and disadvantage for young people in north metropolitan suburbs.

Youth Futures offers a variety of accommodation and support services for young people experiencing, or at-risk of, homelessness.

Mr Waite says the organisation believes that every young person has a right to safe, secure accommodation, and that an experience of homelessness shouldn’t define a person or their future.

Each year, Youth Futures supports more than 3000 at-risk young people in various ways, including with housing and education.

Comments attributed to Joondalup MLA Emily Hamilton:

“Youth Futures provides valuable services and support for vulnerable youth in our community. This funding allows the organisation to do more of its important work.

“Lotterywest is the only State Government owned lottery in Australia where all the profits are returned to the Western Australian community to deliver positive grassroots and community projects and initiatives.”
